Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Hospital Clinical Staff Pharmacist for the inpatient pharmacy on the UT Southwestern Medical Center campus. The role is full-time with an evening shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) and every third weekend.

Requirements include one year hospital/inpatient experience, a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, Texas pharmacist license, ACPE IV compounding certification, and BLS (ACLS if inpatient).

Qualifications

• One year of professional work experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital/inpatient setting is required.
• Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school is required.
• Texas license as a Registered Pharmacist and ACPE IV compounding certification are required.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS required for inpatient positions within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Review medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, interactions and safety.
• Update patient medication profiles and ensure accurate documentation for charges.
• Communicate drug information to physicians and nurses and educate patients and families.
• Assist in cost-effective use and formulary management; participate in department policy adherence.
• Supervise technicians and ensure proper handling of IV medications and controlled substances.
• Participate in clinical programs and pharmacokinetic monitoring as needed.
