Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Clinical Staff Pharmacist for a full-time role with variable shifts, including every third weekend. Responsibilities include accurate order entry, review of orders for safety and effectiveness, and patient education.

This position requires a BS or PharmD and 1 year of pharmacy experience, with Texas licensure upon hire. Preferred inpatient/acute care experience; BLS and ACPE-IV sterile compounding certifications are expected within hire

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree - BS or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• English language proficiency required (speaking, reading, writing).

Responsibilities

• Perform orders entry accurately and timely.
• Review medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness and safety.
• Manage medication profiles, allergies and patient charges.
• Supervise technicians and ensure compliance with formulary and policies.
• Communicate drug information to physicians and nursing staff and educate patients and families.
• Participate in clinical programs and pharmacotherapy optimization.
