Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Process Engineer to drive mold sampling and qualification for new and rebuilt tools, collaborate with plant teams, and optimize molding processes to meet specifications. You will document best practices and support tool design changes across facilities.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering background, strong problem-solving skills, and at least five years in plastics packaging. Travel and cross-functional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to understand, influence, drive and negotiate with internal and external customers.
• Strong management, communication and people skills required to influence and manage multiple resources, most of which do not report to the process engineer.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Minimum of five years' processing experience in the plastics packaging industry desired.
• Experience with SPC is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of mold samplings & qualification services on new, replacement or rebuilt tools.
• Optimize the molding process to meet dimensional limits at designed cycle times.
• Create and maintain standardized Master Process Sheets for defined injection or blow molding.
• Attend project meetings, design reviews and tool specification meetings as required.
• Train plant personnel in technical areas including machine processing and tool design changes.
• Provide Manufacturing Support to solve production issues related to machine, process, tooling/design.
• Support plants with equipment, process, capability studies and tooling qualifications/validations.
• Perform and establish tool and equipment qualification at vendor locations.
• Establish and maintain data resources for packaging, machinery and processes.
• Communicate best practices across manufacturing facilities.
• Design of Experiments and DOE studies to ensure compliance to standards.
