Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Process Engineer to lead injection and blow mold sampling, qualification, and validation for new and rebuilt tooling. You will optimize processes, develop Master Process Sheets, and support startup activities across plants with strong collaboration with quality and R&D teams.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering background, 5+ years in plastics packaging, and ability to train staff while driving continuous improvement. Travel 50–75% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to influence and negotiate with internal and external customers.
• Strong management, communication and people skills to lead multiple resources.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Minimum of five years’ processing experience in plastics packaging.
• Experience with SPC is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Mold samplings & qualification services on new, replacement or rebuilt tools.
• Optimize the molding process to meet dimensional limits within cycle time and validated capabilities.
• Create and maintain Master Process Sheets for injection or blow molding processes.
• Attend design reviews, tool specification meetings and project meetings as required.
• Train plant personnel in technical areas including machine processing and tool design changes.
• Provide Manufacturing Support to solve production issues related to machine, process or tooling.
• Support plants with equipment, process capability studies and tooling qualifications.
• Establish and maintain data resources for packaging, machinery and processes.
• Lead DOE’s and R&D studies to ensure compliance to standards and specifications.
• Develop training programs in machine operation, process control and maintenance.
