Job summary

Local Infusion in Asheville, NC is hiring an Insurance & Intake Coordinator—an "Infusion Guide"—to coordinate referrals, authorizations, and patient care. This full-time onsite role offers predictable hours, a 8:00am-4:30pm schedule, and competitive benefits.

You will liaise with providers, manage insurance pre-authorizations, and support patients and clinicians with compassionate service. A healthcare background and experience with EHR systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience reading medical charts and insurance pre-authorizations.
• Familiar with medical terminology and healthcare workflows.
• Strong customer service mindset and patient-first approach.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle infusion referral process including authorizations and financial counseling.
• Liaise with referring providers to obtain documentation and communicate patient status.
• Explain referral process and status to patients in a clear, compassionate manner.
• Coordinate with prescribing/referring providers to ensure timely care.
• Assist in maintaining medical inventory and office supplies.
• Complete a structured 6-week training plan to succeed in the role.
