Job summary

C3 AI is seeking an Industry Solution Leader for Heavy Industrial to spearhead enterprise AI solutions in Integrated Steel Optimization and Asset Performance. You will own problem definition, design, deployment, and scale across cross-functional teams including Forward Deployed Engineers, data scientists, and product managers.

The role requires hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, or reliability, with direct exposure to integrated steel mill operations and throughput optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, reliability, maintenance, industrial technology, or technically focused consulting.
• Deep experience in asset-intensive industries including steel and metals, minerals and mining, utilities, oil and gas, or heavy manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience solving complex operational problems and improving equipment reliability, production performance, throughput, yield, quality, or energy efficiency.
• Strong understanding of industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, process controls, maintenance practices, and operational workflows.
• Experience with industrial data including sensor/time-series data, equipment states, alarms, and maintenance history.
• Experience with industrial systems such as SCADA, DCS, MES, ERP, EAM/CMMS, or industrial analytics platforms.
• Ability to reason from engineering fundamentals and ensure AI-driven recommendations are credible.
• Experience leading complex, customer-facing technical engagements with engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive practical solutions.
• Ability to work with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and customer technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall solution strategy, technical direction, and delivery outcomes for assigned engagements.
• Serve as the primary customer-facing solution leader and domain expert understanding customer operations and business objectives.
• Identify and quantify high-impact opportunities across reliability, maintenance, production performance, throughput, energy efficiency, and operating economics.
• Translate challenges into AI, ML, optimization, and software problems with defined requirements and value.
• Lead engagements through use case definition, requirements, architecture, deployment, validation, and scale.
• Lead cross-functional teams and align around customer outcomes.
• Guide interpretation and use of industrial data and ensure operational reality alignment.
• Maintain accountability for solution quality, risks, progress, adoption, and executive communication.
• Collaborate with product management to identify reusable capabilities and scale solutions.
