Job summary

ABB Inc is seeking an Industrial Sales Engineer to drive specifications, convert end users and OEMs, and engage contractors across the Greater Ohio territory with a focus on data center, renewable, and wastewater markets.

You will travel frequently, build local stakeholder relationships, and collaborate with Market Development Managers to execute the vertical market strategy. A technical background and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
• 3+ years in industrial sales or a related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of ABB installation products and their applications.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with engineers, contractors, end-users, and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to support call cycles.

Responsibilities

• Drive Specifications & Technical Support: collaborate with engineers to ensure ABB products are specified in new projects and renovations.
• Convert End Users and OEMs: support conversion through technical expertise and relationships.
• Engage with Contractors: provide technical support and guidance.
• Customer Engagement & Satisfaction: build and maintain strong local relationships with engineers, installers, distributors, end-users, and industry partners.
• Build Sales Pipeline & Internal Collaboration: develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and align strategies with internal teams.
• Market Analysis: conduct market analysis and provide VOC to Market Development Manager and Product Managers.
