Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Design & Construction seeks a Preconstruction Manager to oversee cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permitting and contract execution. You will lead site validation, design coordination, and KPI-driven oversight while coordinating with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, and Construction teams.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in architecture/engineering/PM roles, strong budgeting and negotiation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, or related role.
5+ years of project management experience from design through operation, including contracts.
Experience in packaging, processing, or logistical facilities with complex equipment.
Position requires travel up to 60% nationwide.

Responsibilities

Lead preconstruction projects from site selection to design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
Coordinate with design teams to develop compliant site plans and floor plans.
Manage multiple large industrial projects across locations.
Monitor KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
Escalate blockers and drive timely decisions to keep projects on track.
Interface with AHJ for permitting, zoning, fire and building code compliance.
