Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. Responsibilities include repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment.

We offer on-the-job training and a standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional night and weekend overtime. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a two-year technical degree preferred, and at least 6 months in repairing industrial equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree preferred.
• Min 6 months experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Ability to read English maintenance literature and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot industrial equipment safely.
• Follow blueprints and manuals for maintenance tasks.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjust as needed.
• Inspect motors, belts, lubricate components; monitor utilities.
• Log readings and use CMMS for records.

Skills

Lockout/Tagout experience

Read blueprints/schematics

Microsoft Office basics

Ability to lift 80 lbs

Education

High school diploma or GED

Two-year technical degree preferred
