Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will perform installation, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, ensuring safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

On-the-job training is provided, with a Monday–Friday cadence and occasional overtime. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read blueprints and maintenance literature in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two-year technical degree is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production setting is required (min 6 months).
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics and maintenance literature in English.
• Lockout/Tagout experience and basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot industrial equipment, systems, and components.
• Use hand/power tools, precision measurement devices, and electronic testers.
• Perform boiler chemical testing and wastewater treatment adjustments as needed.
• Conduct safety checks on boilers and perform repairs as required.
• Record meter readings and analyze data; take corrective actions.
• Follow blueprints and manuals; use CMMS for maintenance records.
• Inspect belts, shafts, lubricants, and other parts; execute maintenance tasks.
