Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components, with a Monday–Friday schedule and periodic overtime.

On-the-job training is provided. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of related experience, the ability to read blueprints, lockout/tagout familiarity, and the physical ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs as required.
• Inspect and lubricate motors, belts, fluids, shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System for records.
