Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Elkton, MD seeks an Industrial Engineering Manager 2 to lead and mentor a high-performing IE team. You will steer analysis, design of operations, and layouts to enhance efficiency and throughput while championing safety, cost, and quality objectives.

You will standardize methods, deploy CORE/Tableau/MES data, and oversee capacity planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations. U.S. citizenship and Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related STEM field with 10+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Strong industrial engineering and operations background with impact in manufacturing and production environments.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance, US citizenship is a pre-requisite.

Responsibilities

• Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing industrial engineering team supporting plant and production operations; set priorities, goals, and performance expectations for the group.
• Provide strategic direction for analysis and design of operations, optimizing workflows and standards base development, and equipment layouts to improve efficiency, throughput, and bottleneck removal; review and approve major recommendations.
• Own and govern methods and standards that maximize utilization of production facilities, equipment, and personnel; ensure consistent deployment across the site.
• Sponsor and oversee studies in cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, quality improvement, and production record systems; translate findings into practical, implemented solutions with measurable impact.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools and drive design for manufacturing improvements to remove roadblocks and ensure safety, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
• Set expectations and standardize use of CORE, Tableau, MES data, and simulation tools to develop visual shop metrics and drive data-based decisions, manpower forecasting, and improvement roadmaps.
• Direct the development and implementation of operating method and facility changes; integrate accident-prevention and safety improvements into all IE activities.
• Lead cross-functional workshops and training to standardize practices across manufacturing, facilities, safety, quality, and supply chain.
