Job summary

CMC offers an internship program focused on industrial engineering technologies across recycling centers, fabrication plants, manufacturing facilities, steel mills, and offices. Interns gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to multiple departments to understand operations and contribute from day one.

You will learn through real-world projects, receive guidance from industry professionals, and explore opportunities that may lead to full-time employment within CMC.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Junior level or higher preferred).
• Strong interest in Industrial Engineering Technologies and ability to work 40 hours per week in summer.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks; comfortable using Windows software.
• Able to understand ISO work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Willingness to work in environments with temperature extremes, dust, and noise.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train through departments to learn hands-on skills in industrial/engineering technologies.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities via process, quality, and safety improvements.
• Collaborate with the CMC team on process improvement initiatives and projects.
• Prepare presentations/reports on improvement projects at internship end.
