Commercial Metals seeks motivated engineering students for a summer internship across our recycling centers, fabrication plants, and mills. You will gain hands-on experience in real-world projects and learn from industry professionals.

You will cross-train across departments, identify cost-saving opportunities, and present an improvement project at the internship's end. The program emphasizes safety, collaboration, and potential pathways to full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a strong interest in Industrial Engineering Technologies and be enrolled at Junior/Senior level education.
• Able to work a flexible schedule to include 40 hour work weeks during summer (June-August).
• Able to work independently, take initiative and drive for results with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Windows and engineering software such as Auto CAD and SolidWorks.
• Ability to understand ISO work instructions and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train through the department to learn hands-on skills related to industrial/engineering technologies.
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend cost saving opportunities by improving processes.
• Work closely with the continuous improvement team on process improvement initiatives & projects.
• Presentation/Report on an improvement project at the end of internship.
• Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge and collaboration.
• Participate in safety programs and support the safety culture.
