Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking a hands-on controls technician to install, configure and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs and related I/O on-site in Aurora, IL. You will work with 480V 3‑phase systems, servo motors, encoders and VFDs, performing programming updates in ladder logic and maintaining equipment across packaging lines.
Overtime, 2nd/3rd shifts, and safety procedures are part of the role. Strong electrical schematics skills and knowledge of Profibus/industrial Ethernet are valued,
Qualifications
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) required.
- Servo systems and electrical schematics proficiency preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot on 480V, 3-phase power and associated drives.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O, and control wiring.
- Troubleshoot analog/digital controls with 480V 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives and soft starts.
- Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells; program PLC and HMI interfaces.
- Modify PLC logic (ladder) and troubleshoot graphic HMIs; diagnose comms protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
- Diagnose equipment issues via electrical schematics; perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles and conveyors.
- Follow safety procedures (lockout/tagout, PPE) and support packaging equipment maintenance in manufacturing setting.
