Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Bolingbrook, IL seeks an on-site controls technician capable of installing, configuring and troubleshooting PLCs, servo systems, HMIs and associated control wiring. You will work with 480V 3-phase systems, motors, and drives, and maintain encoders and load cells in a manufacturing setting.

The role involves ladder logic programming, diagnostic testing of Profibus/serial/industrial Ethernet, and preventive maintenance of conveyors and laser-guided systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and servo systems.
• Experience with maintenance on packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confined spaces, PPE).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and wiring.
• Troubleshoot analog and digital controls with 480V, 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servos and soft starts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces; ladder logic modifications.
• Troubleshoot communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
• Perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors, and production equipment.
