Job summary

Mullins Mechanical seeks an Assistant Project Manager to oversee industrial mechanical projects, including millwright/rigging, process piping, utility piping, and structural steel. The role supports PMs in budgeting, scheduling, subcontracting, and coordinating subcontractors on-site.

The candidate should have a related degree or equivalent experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and familiarity with construction safety and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• PMP/CCM or equivalent certification is a plus.
• OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR training is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
• Experience leading teams in construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, management, and storage of all project documentation.
• Participate in project hand-off meetings to gather information for construction.
• Assist PM in preparing construction budget.
• Assist in developing and managing construction schedule.
• Develop and write subcontracts and purchase orders as requested.
• Coordinate subcontractors and monitor performance.
• Manage materials and equipment submittals.
• Prepare RFIs for project specifics.
• Collaborate with PM and accounting to resolve cost discrepancies.
• Assist in pricing/negotiating changes in scope.
• Support Superintendents with resource requests.
• Monitor safety, quality, and productivity on site.
• Maintain a clean and orderly jobsite.
