Job summary

Mullins Mechanical is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support industrial mechanical projects, including millwright/rigging, process piping, utility piping, and structural steel. The role involves coordinating documentation, budgets, schedules, and subcontractor management on projects assigned to various locations.

The successful candidate will bring professional PM experience or a related degree, strong leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management or BS/BA in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• PMP/CCM or equivalent certification would be an asset
• OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR training is desirable
• Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment
• Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate and control costs
• Strong leadership and teamwork abilities
• Knowledge of MS Office and construction management software

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, management, and storage of all project documentation
• Participate in project hand-off meetings to gather key information
• Assist PM in preparing construction budget
• Assist in developing and managing construction schedule
• Develop and write subcontracts and purchase orders as requested
• Contractually and collaboratively manage subcontractors and performance
• Coordinate materials and equipment submittals
• Create and distribute RFIs for clarification
• Work with PM and accounting to resolve cost discrepancies
• Contribute to pricing, negotiation, and changes in project scope
• Collaborate with Superintendents on resource needs
• Monitor safety, quality, and productivity on site
• Ensure jobsite remains clean and orderly
