Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources team. The successful candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary design across North America, supporting mining, power, oil & gas, renewable energy and transition projects.

The role combines hands-on project execution with consulting, mentoring, and collaboration with remote teams. Travel to client sites (~10%) is anticipated as part of project delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design phases and start-up.
Lead design and development of I&C drawings and specifications; support procurement.
Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with third-party systems.
Prepare technical specifications for industrial networks and connections.
Coordinate with internal teams and clients; participate in design reviews and value engineering.
