Job summary

Rea is a growing Top 100 business advisory and accounting firm focusing on tax, accounting, and business consulting. The Indirect Tax Consulting Manager will support research and controversy managers, involving sales and use tax audit defense and nexus/risk assessments across nationwide client sites.

Ideal candidates have a CPA or CMI trajectory, 4–5 years of SALT experience, and strong analytical and client-service skills. Travel to client locations is required with rare overnight stays.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. degree preferred
• 4-5 years' state and local SALT experience
• CPA or CMI in sales tax (or planned)
• Willingness to travel; access to reliable transport
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience integrating AI into SALT workflows
• Commitment to client service, ethics, and quality
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team setting

Responsibilities

• Assist with nationwide nexus studies for sales tax, income tax, and other tax types
• Assist with nationwide risk assessments quantifying exposure for SALT
• Assist with voluntary disclosure projects
• Prepare memoranda on state and local tax issues
• Assist with due diligence projects
• Assist in sales and use tax audit defense projects
• Maintain active communication with clients
