Job summary

Rea is seeking a qualified SALT Consulting & Technology Manager to join our growing tax practice. You will balance high-level multi-state tax advisory with hands-on sales tax system configurations, exemption management, and project leadership across ERP/Ecommerce platforms.

The role involves working on nexus studies, risk assessments, and taxability determinations while coordinating with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality SALT solutions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree from an accredited university.
• 4-5 years’ experience in state and local tax consulting (sales & use tax).
• CPA certification or CMI in sales tax, or on track with CMI expectations.
• Avalara CIP certification.
• Experience with Avalara, Vertex, and implementations.
• ERP/Ecommerce experience: NetSuite, Microsoft Business Central, QBO, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, project management and communication skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nationwide nexus studies for sales and income tax and other taxes.
• Assist with nationwide risk assessments quantifying exposure for various tax types.
• Assist clients with indirect tax engine evaluation and selection.
• Oversee complex sales tax system implementations for diverse ERP/Ecommerce platforms.
• Assist with voluntary disclosure projects.
• Prepare memoranda on state and local tax issues and taxability.
• Maintain active client communication from early stages.
