Job summary

Rea is seeking an Indirect Tax Consulting Manager to lead nationwide sales and use tax projects, including nexus studies, risk assessments, and audit defense, while advising clients on taxability and compliance. The role partners with senior managers and requires 4–5 years of SALT experience, CPA/CMI path, travel to client sites, and strong analytics, communication, and Microsoft Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
• 4-5 years’ state and local SALT consulting experience
• CPA or CMI in sales tax (or aligned with CMI expectations)
• Willingness to travel to client locations; overnight travel rare
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, and project management capabilities
• Solid Microsoft Suite skills; ability to integrate AI into SALT workflows for better outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong teamwork and urgency for quality work

Responsibilities

• Assist with nationwide nexus studies for sales tax, income tax, and other taxes
• Assist with nationwide risk assessments quantifying exposure for various taxes
• Assist with voluntary disclosure projects
• Prepare memoranda on state/local tax issues and taxability of products/services
• Assist with due diligence projects
• Assist in sales and use tax audit defense projects
• Maintain active communication with clients and engage directly within the first week
