Job summary

Rea SALT Consulting seeks an Indirect Tax Consulting & Technology Manager to blend high-level multi-state tax advisory with hands-on sales tax system configurations and exemption management. Lead tax software implementations, optimize tax processes, and manage client engagements in a dynamic advisory environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with ERP platforms and AI-driven workflows, supporting clients across the U.S. and staying current on regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university.
• 4–5 years’ experience in state and local tax consulting (sales & use tax).
• CPA or CMI in sales tax or on track with eligibility.
• Avalara CIP certification.
• Avalara, Vertex, implementation experience.
• Exemption Certificate Management experience.
• Ecommerce and ERP experience: NetSuite, Microsoft BC, QBO, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and communication skills.
• Proven ability to apply AI and tech to SALT workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nationwide nexus studies for sales tax, income tax, and other tax types.
• Assist with nationwide risk assessments quantifying exposure for taxes.
• Assist clients with indirect tax engine evaluation and selection.
• Oversee complex sales tax system implementations for diverse ERP/Ecommerce platforms.
• Assist with voluntary disclosure projects.
• Prepare memoranda on state and local tax issues.
• Maintain active communication with clients in your first week.
