Job summary

Rea, a growing Top 100 advisory and accounting firm, seeks an Indirect Tax Consulting Manager to support research and controversy teams. The role focuses on sales and use tax audits, nexus studies, and risk assessments across multiple jurisdictions.

The candidate should have a BA/BS, 4-5 years in SALT, CPA/CMI in SALT, and willingness to travel. Strong analytical and client-service skills, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required in a relevant field.
• 4-5 years’ experience in state and local tax consulting.
• CPA or CMI certification aligned with SALT expectations or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nationwide nexus studies for sales tax, income tax, and other tax types.
• Assist with nationwide risk assessments quantifying exposure for various taxes.
• Assist with voluntary disclosure projects.
• Prepare memoranda on state and local tax issues/taxability of products or services.
• Assist with due diligence projects.
• Assist in sales and use tax audit defense projects.
• Maintain active communication with clients—direct client interaction early on.
