Job summary

GPC in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an Inbound Operations Supervisor to lead receiving freight and stocking teams, ensuring loads are scheduled and received on time, and that all paperwork is reconciled. The role focuses on safe, efficient operations and a culture of engagement.

The supervisor will mentor staff, drive continuous improvements, manage shift coverage during peak periods, and partner with DC management to minimize errors and costs while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience within a distribution center or similar environment.
• Ability to comply with all safety requirements pertaining to job functions and general distribution center safety requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and implements functions of efficient inbound operations by instructing employees how to perform work, monitoring progress, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Designs and maintains organization of inbound freight (scheduling and unloading), receiving dock, stocking activities, housekeeping, and maintenance areas and protocols.
• Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations, maintaining a safe environment for employees including receiving, stocking and customer return procedures.
• Monitors budget planning and enforces cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
• Leads warehouse associates, promoting engagement and empowerment to solve problems and make good operational decisions.
• Investigates and resolves receiving errors with the team to mitigate future issues.
• Schedules team hours for peak periods and efficiency.
• Ensures equipment is used and maintained properly and daily security protocols are followed.
• Identifies opportunities for cost reduction and implements process improvements for efficiency.
• Mentors team members and facilitates problem-solving to drive operational success.
• Oversees put-away procedures for incoming freight and customer returns and reconciles received loads daily.
