Qualifications

• 21+ years of age or older
• Culinary arts degree preferred; extensive culinary experience may substitute
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience
• Valid Food Manager Certification required
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Passion for community engagement and delivering outstanding customer experiences

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational pastry experiences
• Deliver in-store pastry classes that align with recipes and brand standards
• Explain technical pastry concepts in a clear, friendly way
• Stay current on products; participate in training and self-directed learning
• Drive class revenue by high enrollment and positive reviews
• Meet or exceed culinary program goals via engaging classes and customer feedback
• Set up and breakdown classes; organize mise en place and prep ingredients
• Clean and sanitize dishes and equipment promptly
• Restock and organize kitchen supplies and tools
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation rules
• Handle tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain accurate inventory and control costs where possible
• Adhere to wage-hour laws and properly record time worked
