Qualifications include a 2-year degree or equivalent, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and experience coding CABG/Ortho/Med cases with 3M 360 Encoder HDM. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
• Active credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC.
• Experience coding CABG, Orthopedic, and Med cases REQUIRED.
• Experience using 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.
• Meets or exceeds Quality and Productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes based on documentation and guidelines; ensure accurate DRG.
• Create compliant physician queries as needed.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties with flexibility.
