Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an In-patient Coder to handle coding and data entry for acute hospital inpatient visits. You will code CABG, Orthopedic, and Medical cases, and use the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline the process.

The role requires 2-year degree or equivalent, AHIMA/AAPC certification, and experience with CABG/Ortho/Med cases and 3M 360 Encoder HDM. Strong accuracy, communication, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree or equivalent experience required.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification required.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases required.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Detail oriented and able to follow through on issues.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS diagnoses and procedures accurately.
• Ensure correct DRG assignment based on documentation and guidelines.
• Review claims for medical necessity and accuracy.
• Create compliant physician queries when needed.
• Update problem lists per client contract and site guidelines.
• Assign present-on-admission indicators correctly.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties.
