Job summary

Post University seeks an in-house Compliance & Contracts Attorney to advise institutional stakeholders on contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters. The role emphasizes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, including data privacy, technology, and IP matters, with limited travel.

The attorney will collaborate with the legal and compliance teams, faculty, and staff to ensure alignment with university policies and applicable laws, including Title IX, FERPA, and NCAA regulations.

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from an accredited US law school.
Admitted and in good standing in at least one state bar; Connecticut house counsel status required.
At least two years of experience practicing as a lawyer.
Interest in contract review and key provisions (copyright ownership, data privacy and protection, IT security, indemnification, insurance).
Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, revise, and negotiate vendor and technology agreements, partnerships, data privacy and IP matters.
Review student communications for regulatory compliance.
Provide legal advice on ethics, operations, and compliance.
Assist with international compliance for a growing international student population.
Support with privacy, GLBA, GDPR, FERPA, NCAA, and related regulatory areas as learned.
Perform legal research and develop internal legal resources.
