Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care for adults and seniors in client homes. Training and ongoing support are provided; no experience required.

Helpers assist with daily living tasks, mobility, meal prep, and companionship, following an approved plan. Benefits include pay range of $17–$20 per hour, opportunities for pay increases and career growth, flexible schedules, mileage reimbursement, and supportive supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in Maine, or willingness to enroll within 60 days.
• CNA accepted.
• No experience required; training and support provided.
• Not listed on Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Support mobility and transfers with or without mobility aids.
• Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Help with meal preparation, serving, grocery shopping and errands as per care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in client condition to supervisor.
• Follow client service plan and complete required documentation on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all interactions.
• Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents immediately.
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect; maintain dependable attendance.
• Follow MaineTouch policies and participate in trainings.
