Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home, non-medical care for adults and seniors. Training and ongoing supervision are provided. No prior experience is required, with opportunities for certification and career growth.

Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience and availability, with flexible day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts. This role is in client homes, emphasizing safety, independence, and compassionate support.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in Maine or willingness to enroll within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required - training and support provided.
• Not listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming.
• Support clients with mobility and transfers, including safe movement with/without mobility aids.
• Help with household tasks related to care (light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, changing bed linens).
• Assist with meal preparation, meal serving, grocery shopping, and errands as outlined in care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in a client’s condition or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Follow all instructions and perform only tasks listed in the client’s service plan.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all client interactions.
• Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents immediately.
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
• Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules.
• Follow MaineTouch policies and required training.
