Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care to adults and seniors in their homes or living settings.

No experience is required; we train and support you. You will work independently with ongoing supervision, following each client's plan of care.

We offer full-time and part-time positions with pay ranging from $17 to $20 per hour, pay increases based on performance and certifications, and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, or enroll within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required; training and support provided.
• Not listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene.
• Support clients with mobility and transfers, including safe movement with or without mobility aids.
• Help with household tasks related to care, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, meal serving, groceries, and errands as outlined in the care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition or safety concerns to your supervisor.
• Follow all instructions and perform only tasks listed in the client's service plan.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all client interactions.
• Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents immediately.
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
• Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules.
• Follow MaineTouch policies and participate in required training.
