Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families across Westover Hills and Helotes, Texas. This role offers professional autonomy, empathy-driven care, and the opportunity to practice medicine in the comfort of clients’ homes.

We value compassionate end-of-life care, quality-of-life support, and a family-owned, doctor-led practice with no non-compete agreements.

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD, BVMS, or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel to in-home appointments.
• Ability to work independently as a mobile veterinarian in a home-care setting.
• Strong empathy and professionalism during end-of-life conversations.
• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier weights.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services.
• Travel independently to scheduled in-home appointments.
• Perform physical examinations, clinical assessments, and medications as appropriate.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and euthanasia processes.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Communicate professionally with families, team, and referring vets.
• Ensure safety and proper handling of animals in client homes.
