Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking in-home hospice and euthanasia veterinarians to serve pet families across Westover Hills & Helotes, Texas. This role offers the autonomy to practice compassionate end-of-life care in the home, without clinic constraints.

We value empathy, professional autonomy, and work-life balance, with a privately held, doctor-led practice. Rotational weekend scheduling may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and license to practice.
• Ability to travel between in-home appointments and work independently.
• Comfort with in-home hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia services.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support and euthanasia.
• Travel to scheduled appointments in a mobile veterinary care environment.
• Perform examinations, administer medications, sedation, euthanasia as appropriate.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Communicate professionally with families, team, and referring veterinarians.
• Ensure safety when handling animals in various home environments.
