Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families across the San Antonio, Hollywood Park & Bulverde, Texas area. This role offers autonomy, meaningful client relationships, and the chance to practice end-of-life veterinary care with compassion.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent and licensed to practice in Texas.
• Active veterinary license in state(s) where services provided.
• Valid U.S. driverfs license and ability to travel between appointments.
• Ability to work independently in a mobile care setting.
• Strong communication and empathy in sensitive end-of-life conversations.
• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals safely.
• Successful completion of applicable background and motor vehicle record checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and compassionate euthanasia services within your service area.
• Independently travel to scheduled appointments and practice in a mobile veterinary care environment.
• Perform physical examinations, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and related services.
• Educate and guide pet families through quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each encounter.
• Communicate professionally with pet families, Heartstrings team, scheduling, and referring veterinarians.
• Safely handle and move animals during in-home appointments.
