Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice seeks in-home hospice and euthanasia veterinarians to serve Omaha, Papillion and Bennington, NE. Work outside traditional clinics with autonomy, compassionate home-based care, and strong family relationships. No corporate dashboards or restrictive non-competes.

Role focuses on hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and in-home euthanasia, allowing flexible schedules and professional autonomy within a privately held, doctor-led practice.

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD, BVMS, or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services are provided.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between scheduled appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments and work in a mobile veterinary care environment.
• Perform examinations, assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and other veterinary services as permitted.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy and clear communication.
• Maintain accurate veterinary records and documentation for each encounter.
• Collaborate with Heartstrings team and referring veterinarians.
• Safely handle and move companion animals during home visits.
• Demonstrate professionalism and clinical independence while in the field.
