Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking an in-home hospice and euthanasia veterinarian to serve pet families across the United States. This role emphasizes compassionate end-of-life care delivered in clients' homes, with autonomy and a doctor-led, privately held practice structure.

Ideal candidates are skilled in difficult conversations, quality-of-life decisions, and independent field practice, with a commitment to compassionate care and professional autonomy.

Qualifications

• DVM (or equivalent) from an accredited veterinary program.
• Hold or be eligible to obtain an active veterinary license in the service state(s).
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel between appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and euthanasia services.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments in a mobile veterinary care environment.
• Perform examinations, administer medications, sedation, euthanasia, and other veterinary services as appropriate.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life care options with empathy and clear communication.
• Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with Heartstrings teams.
