Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve full-time in Missouri, coaching and mentoring students to improve academic success and attendance. You will plan progress, work with teachers, and support classroom activities to foster a positive learning environment.

This entry-level role includes 2–4 weeks of training, a bi-weekly living stipend, and benefits through City Year, with opportunities to grow within education and community service programs.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring or coaching students is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success.
• Help improve attendance and develop positive behaviors at school.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and record data.
• Partner with teachers for in-class instruction and student support.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to identified students.
• Support extended day and virtual programming and student clubs.
