Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps seeks entry-level student success coach and mentor roles in Missouri. You will coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behaviors, partnering with teachers for in-class support and data-informed progress reviews.

Training is provided at the start of the year; roles involve 2-4 weeks of onboarding and collaboration with school staff. A meaningful service opportunity with City Year benefits and stipends is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching and mentoring students is not required; training is provided.
• Ability to develop literacy and math activities and adapt to student levels.
• Support and implement behavior management strategies in classrooms.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and use data systems.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and attendance.
• Assist teachers with in-class instruction and student support.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces with teachers.
• Support school-wide initiatives and after-school programs.
• Assist in collecting and recording student data for reviews.
