Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking entry-level, paid full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary, middle and high school. AmeriCorps members coach, mentor and collaborate with teachers to boost academic achievement and attendance.

You’ll start with 2–4 weeks of training and work closely with school staff to implement literacy/math activities and behavior supports, while promoting a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience not required; 2–4 weeks of training provided.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; DACA not eligible.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers.
• Support whole classroom instruction and in-class student assistance.
• Create engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces with teachers.
• Contribute to extended day and after-school programs.
