Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors. This entry-level, paid, full-time role focuses on coaching elementary to high school students to improve academic outcomes and attendance.

Training is provided, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff to support students throughout the school day. Members participate in 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and work with partner teachers to reinforce literacy, math, and positive behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary to high school students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress; support in-class instruction and student assistance.
• Assist with whole-school initiatives and after-school programs to boost engagement and development.
