Job summary

ADAPT Community Network is seeking a Residence Manager to oversee the daily operations of a residential program for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will supervise staff, manage facility operations, ensure safety and compliance, and support independence and community inclusion.

The role requires supervision experience, leadership skills, and knowledge of OPWDD standards; valid NY driver’s license and AMAP certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in a residential or developmental disabilities setting.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License in good standing required.
• AMAP certification or eligibility required.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with ability to coach, motivate, and support staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with people we support, families, staff and external partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate treatment and service plans for people we support.
• Ensures health, safety, and dignity of people we support at all times.
• Oversees medical care needs, including medication administration and coordination with clinical staff.
• Supports people we support in developing daily living skills and community participation.
• Advocates on behalf of people we support with programs, employers, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
• Coordinates transportation and ensures availability and maintenance of adaptive equipment.
• Supports hiring, orientation, training, scheduling, and supervision of residential staff across all shifts.
• Provides coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensures staff participate in trainings, meetings, and in-service development.
• Promotes accountability, teamwork, and person-centered support.
• Manages facility, safety systems, and equipment inspections.
• Ensures compliance with OPWDD and agency policies.
• Oversees household finances, payroll, cash and supply inventory.
• Maintains accurate documentation and prepares for audits and quality reviews.
• Responds to medical and behavioral emergencies per procedures; provides first aid, CPR, and crisis intervention.
