Job summary

ADAPT Community Network in New York, NY seeks a Senior Residence Program Specialist to provide direct support, guidance, and advocacy in our residential programs, promoting independence, dignity, and personal growth while modeling best practices and supporting daily operations in alignment with OPWDD regulations.

This leadership role covers scheduling, staff coaching, safety, documentation, and crisis response.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AMAP certification or eligible within required time frame.
• Valid NYS driver's license.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and individualized supports promoting independence.
• Maintain a safe, clean residential environment while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.
• Support residents with personal care as needed.
• Train and coach residents in daily living skills and routines.
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and grocery shopping.
• Model best practices and assist with orientation and training of staff.
• Document progress notes, incident reports, and shift logs.
• Respond to emergencies using OPWDD crisis strategies.
• Transport residents to medical appointments and activities.
• Assist with preparing work schedules and shift assignments.
• Participate in team meetings and mandatory trainings.
