Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Membership Sales Associate in Alexandria, VA. You will welcome members, build relationships, and connect individuals to programs and opportunities that foster community engagement and belonging.

You will drive membership growth through effective outreach, tours, and consultative interactions while supporting a welcoming, inclusive YMCA culture and contributing to program impact across the branch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in membership sales and customer service.
• A genuine passion for sales, networking, relationship-building, and community engagement.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, including branch and community events.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Grow Membership by Building Relationships: build authentic relationships through outreach, tours, and inquiries.
• Be a Connector in the Community: develop partnerships and represent the Y at local events.
• Create a Place Where Everyone Belongs: welcome all members and connect to programs and resources.
• Collaborate, Lead & Make an Impact: work with leadership to execute membership strategies and events.
