Job summary

The YMCA Alexandria is seeking a Membership Associate to welcome members, build relationships, and connect people to programs, helping members feel they belong and supporting membership growth and retention. You will be a visible face of the Y, delivering consultative tours and responsive service while upholding the Y's mission and community impact.

This role requires evenings and weekend availability, a passion for community engagement, and strong communication and leadership skills to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in membership sales and customer service.
A genuine passion for sales, networking, relationship-building, and community engagement.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, including branch and community events.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Grow Membership by Building Relationships: build authentic relationships through outreach, networking and partnerships.
Be a Connector in the Community: represent the YMCA at local events and develop meaningful partnerships.
Create a Place Where Everyone Belongs: connect members to classes, programs, volunteers and community initiatives.
Collaborate, Lead & Make an Impact: work with Leadership to execute membership strategies and engagement initiatives.
