Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Academy of Arts & Technology in Marion, Ohio to support students with IEPs and create a rigorous, nurturing classroom environment focused on learning and social-emotional growth.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, conducting assessments, writing behavior and IEP goals, and communicating with families. Ideal candidates have knowledge of state standards, inclusive/co-teaching experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in a full room inclusion or Co-Teaching model.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations and planning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass background checks and work in a multi-cultural setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities, modify curricula as needed, and assist in regular classwork.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Engage families and participate in planning non-instructional activities.
