Job summary

ACCEL Schools is hiring Intervention Specialists for Case Preparatory Academy in Akron, OH to support students with IEP goals within inclusion/co-teaching settings. You will develop and implement intervention strategies, conduct assessments, and collaborate with teachers and families to promote academic and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• High level of comfort in growth-focused coaching with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• High quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks (FBI/BCI).
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting abilities and disabilities, assisting in intervention strategies, modifying general education curricula as needed, and assisting students with regular class assignments.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Work to meet goals related to student achievement, culture, and state benchmarks.
• Use research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons and interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
