Job summary

ACCEL Schools seeks Intervention Specialists in Columbus, Ohio to support our inclusive classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year. You will diagnose instruction, write IEP goals, and plan behavior interventions while collaborating with teachers and families.

The role emphasizes growth-focused coaching, regular observations, and culturally responsive teaching, with a focus on student achievement and social-emotional development.

Qualifications

• Current state license.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in a full room inclusion model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations, debriefs and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Outlook).
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with teachers, interpret abilities/disabilities, assist in intervention strategies and modify curriculum as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals/objectives.
• Strive to meet goals related to student achievement and school culture.
• Use research-based best practices in planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching in daily lessons and interactions.
