Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist for Academy of Arts & Technology in Marion, Ohio. You will address conduct, discipline, and attendance challenges while promoting student learning and social-emotional development.

You will develop and implement FBA-based interventions, collaborate with IEP teams, and support teachers and families with behavior modification plans. A bachelor's degree and several years of relevant experience are preferred, with health and retirement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, health, or related field preferred.
• Intervention Specialist license preferred.
• Minimum of three years' experience working with at-risk or behaviorally challenged students in a teaching, social work, tutoring, or mentoring role.
• Track record of building trust and positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills that reflect professionalism and tact at all times
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Ability to pass federal, state, and local background checks

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding and supportive attitude toward behavioral needs of students of various ages.
• Provide expertise in Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), function-based interventions, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Meet with students needing intervention and develop individualized behavior tracking and intervention programs.
• Participate on IEP Teams and develop relationships with students requiring intervention.
• Collaborate with staff on crisis intervention, learning and collaboration issues, and intervention implementation.
• Serve as a consultant to administrators, teachers, and parents on behavior improvement.
• Monitor attendance and develop Absence Intervention Plans to improve school-wide attendance.
• Promote positive school culture through daily practices and collaboration.
• Maintain timely records per school policies.
• Participate in events, trainings, and duties as needed.
