Job summary

Knowledge Services is recruiting an Eligibility Specialist to support the Indiana Division of Family Resources in Indianapolis. The role focuses on processing applications for TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid, gathering data, and verifying eligibility according to state policies.

You will handle data entry, document collection, and communications with clients, providing timely responses by phone or email. The position emphasizes accuracy, client service, and adherence to program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment, state or local government is desired pertaining to employment / training programs.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Solid computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Case management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for all relevant assistance programs either face-to-face or via phone with clients
• Verify all information is gathered accurately and meets state policies
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed
• Verify income, assets, and other financial / legal documents
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients
• Utilize automated program to determine eligibility of state assistance programs
• Data entry into state database
• Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner via phone or email
